From Library Journal
Anderson has written an entertaining and well-researched study of the Detroit Tigers baseball team. As one of the original members of the American League, which was formed in 1901, their history is rich with names like Ty Cobb, Hank Greenberg, and Al Kaline. The photographs collected here, many of which have not been widely available, are clear and well presented. The book is printed on heavy stock paper and is a delight to hold and read. While this is particularly recommended for Midwestern libraries serving Tiger fans, libraries with strong sports collections should also consider purchasing, as it is many notches above the cartloads of sports schlock being published today. - Paul Kaplan, Dakota Cty. Lib., Eagan, Minn. Copyright 1991 Reed Business Information, Inc.

A must-read for any Tigers fan. The pictures alone give you goosebumps. --Rob Parker, sports columnist at the Detroit News
