This is a great record for so many reasons: The first listening provides tremendous satisfaction as an intelligent, unpretentious, catchy collection of rock tunes and ballads. Because each song hangs together beautifully as a "pop" song, you might not notice with a casual listening that these extremely well written songs are very uniquely structured. Henry's writing and playing relies heavily on subtly developing musical and lyrical themes. When one will truly come to appreciate this integrity is on subsequent, multiple listenings. Instead of growing tired of the songs, as with so many collections, these just keep getting better as you discover Henry's hidden themes, and as his melodies return to you at the most unexpected times, inspiring you to go back and listen once more.
