About The Author
David Levy is a partner in the Litigation, International, and Intellectual Property and Technology departments at Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., and is based in the firms Houston office. He is also a Co-Head of the firms Asia Pacific Practice Group. Mr. Levy focuses his international trial and arbitration practice on complex commercial disputes that range from business torts to class actions to patent infringement matters. He also represents individuals and corporate fiduciaries in probate and ERISA litigation cases, and advises corporations on crisis management.
Mr. Levys international litigation experience includes representing persons or entities from Australia, Bahrain, Britain, the British Virgin Islands, Canada, Chile, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Puerto Rico, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, and Taiwan. Mr. Levy has tried over ten cases (often as first chair), and has handled numerous appeals in state and federal court. Mr. Levy has written articles for publication in The Houston Lawyer, the Texas Transnational Law Journal, the Texas Lawyer, the National Law Journal, and other professional journals. Mr. Levy also has been a speaker at many continuing legal education seminars on topics ranging from crisis management to international litigation. Mr. Levy is active in various professional and civic organizations, including the Houston Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the International Bar Association. He is also a past-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lone Star Legal Aid, and a past-President of the Gulf Coast Legal Foundation.
Mr. Levy was born in Pretoria, South Africa, and moved to the United States in 1979. He received a B.A., with Highest Honors, from The University of Texas at Austin, and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He was admitted to practice law in Texas in 1991.
