Product Description
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is an enabling technology that allows business to communicate on a computer to computer basis using pre-defined standards. This book is written to explain this technology to those who nmeed to have a practical foundation in understanding and using EDI. EDI enables companies to compete more effectively by allowing them to be more innovative while reducing costs, and improving customer service. Today the majority of businesses worldwide have, or are contemplating starting, EDI programs. Over the next five years, we expect to see the majority of business-to-business documents being transmitted electronically via EDI standards within the United States.
